I had the wing started but lost it from a crash. Sorry i'm not as far along as I should be. I will be coming to the lab every day this week though, so I will be able to catch up. hit me up with critiqueness please, that would be great.
Looking good so far. Check out http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/store/category/167/Free-Maya-Tutorials to do the eyes. Make sure you do it like this so the specular highlight is there for the lighters. I think you have to sign up for it but its free.
The wing isn't going to move, flap, or unfurl at all during the film. I don't know how you were modeling it before the crash (which sucks btw..sorry for that) but don't stress yourself out. Just get the basic shape of it when it's curled into its body.
Also, the pigeon will have to open its mouth at some point, so make sure it has a bottom and a top part to its beak. I don't know if Alyssa included that in her drawing...
Ya the first layer of the wings will just be extruded with some crease and then the other layers fitting under/inside. I'll do one and show you. good to know on the beak, though I think I was planning on that. And ya I'll upload some topology. I'm a bit worried about some parts being to simplified as far as polygons go, but I'll see what you think?

ReplyDeleteSweet sounds good. Anything need tweaking on the body before I continue?
ReplyDeleteThe body looks pretty dang good so far!
ReplyDeleteThese are just some things to keep in mind:

could you upload a screenshot with the topology showing? it'd be good to see how your mesh looks.
